Cashback: part of your losses back, if the terms allow

By Kristaps Birznieks · updated October 2026

Cashback returns a share of your net losses over a set period — a day, a week or a month. For a live table player it is often the easiest offer to understand, because you do not have to change what you play to receive it. Cashback still has its own logic, and it is worth reading before you play rather than at the end of the period.

What the percentage is calculated on

Most cashback is calculated on net losses: deposits minus withdrawals and balance, or stakes minus winnings, within the period. The details matter:

Cash or bonus funds

Cashback may be paid as real money that can be withdrawn immediately, or as bonus funds with wagering. The difference is decisive. Example: 10% cashback on a €300 net loss is €30. Paid as cash, it is €30. Paid as a bonus with 5x wagering where live roulette counts 10%, you would need €1,500 in stakes at the wheel, carrying an expected loss of about €40 at a 2.70% house edge — more than the cashback itself. In that form the refund is close to worthless for a roulette player.

Cashback and the house edge

Cash cashback genuinely reduces your long-run losses. If you play European roulette with its 2.70% edge and get 10% of your net losses back in cash, your expected losses fall by roughly a tenth. That helps, but it does not turn the game in your favour. Cashback is not a reason to play longer or to raise your stakes.

Sports cashback

In the sports section cashback is often tied to a specific event or bet form — for instance, a refund when an accumulator loses by a single leg. Such offers usually come with minimum odds and a minimum number of selections. Accumulators are explained on bet types.

Periods and timing

Check when the period starts and ends and when cashback is credited. If the period runs Monday to Sunday and you play late on Sunday, the result may fall into one period or the next depending on the time zone the operator uses. Also check whether the cashback must be claimed within a certain time after it appears; if you forget, it can expire. Note the end of the period and check your balance the next day.

How it compares

For a regular table player, cash cashback is often simpler and more transparent than a reload bonus or a VIP programme. The general conditions are covered in bonus terms, and the table maths in our live casino guide.

Every figure on this page is an example for the arithmetic. Percentages, multipliers, deadlines and limits are set by the operator and can change at any time — the cashier and the bonus terms on the operator's site are what count.
