Kristaps Birznieks
Kristaps Birznieks is the editor of casino-klondaika.com. He focuses on two areas where players most often lose money through not knowing the rules rather than through bad luck: live dealer table rules and the maths of sports betting. Every page on the site, in Latvian, Russian and English, is written or checked under his editorship.
What Kristaps covers
- Live tables. Differences between roulette variants, how blackjack rules change the house edge, baccarat commission, table etiquette and what happens when your connection drops mid-round.
- Sports betting. Decimal odds and probability, the bookmaker's margin, bet types from singles to system bets, and the quirks of hockey, football, basketball and tennis markets.
- Bonus terms. How live games and sports bets count towards wagering, and where maximum-stake and minimum-odds rules hide.
Working method
Kristaps does not build articles on promotional material. His checks are ones a reader can repeat:
- Table rules are read from the table's info panel and payout table, and the house edge is calculated from them.
- The margin of a sports market is calculated from the published odds: 1 divided by the odds for every outcome, minus 100%.
- An organiser's licence is checked in the regulator's public register; for Latvia, VID's list of licensed gambling organisers.
- Game data such as RTP is quoted only when the game's developer publishes it or several independent sources agree. Without a source, no number is given.
What Kristaps does not write
He does not publish claims about an operator's bonuses, limits or payout times that cannot be checked publicly. He does not write "safe strategy" or "guaranteed win" pieces, because none exist: every table bet has a house edge and every sports market has a margin. He does not award stars and does not use invented player testimonials.
Principles
Readers should know who is writing and why. That is why every page carries the same disclosure: our buttons lead to an offer from an operator chosen by our partner network, which may not be Klondaika. It is why every payment and bonus page reminds you that the operator sets the figures. And it is why the responsible gambling pages point to concrete help, such as the Latvian support line and the self-exclusion register, rather than to generic advice.
